Description
The farm was established in 1996 and initially produced sciacchetrà and extra virgin olive oil. In 2010, the historic vineyards were restored and new ones were planted; vinification takes place in steel with short skin fermentations. After developing the white wines, in 2011 we decided to revive the great tradition of Mediterranean reds: it was necessary to restore the terraces for the new plantation 50 meters above sea level where a very suitable variety of grenache was planted. We wanted to create a farm that would best express the potential of the vines and olive trees and be an essential support to a beautiful and particularly fragile territory. The valley, located at the eastern end of the Cinque Terre, overlooking the Ligurian Sea and facing South-East, has hosted agricultural settlements since the Middle Ages. At the end of the 19th century, the property was purchased by our family who, in addition to exploiting its agricultural resources, enhanced the sandstone quarry at its western end.
