Description

The history of the company begins in the early '50s, when my grandfather succeeded in purchasing the land on which he had already been working for a long time with the family, but as a sharecropper. It was one of the first Tuscan farming families to move away from the sharecropping regime, thus allowing the birth of the current agricultural company where my grandfather worked as a versatile farmer, and where later my father decided to dedicate himself completely to vineyard management and wine production. Over the years, the most important results were, in chronological order: deeply understanding the lands, previously cultivated in an archaic way, selecting two local Sangiovese clones with which we still produce today, choosing to increase the presence of Malvasia Nera. We identified the unsuspected presence in San Miniato of this fantastic plant that we now know to be Tempranillo. Today our winery is the only one in Tuscany producing wines using this precious centuries-old grape variety, with historical roots in San Miniato.
