Cortona Wine Tour

Description

Our family-run company was established in the early 1900s on the hills between Cortona and Montepulciano at the border between the provinces of Arezzo, Siena, and Perugia. From the Central Company located at 360 meters above sea level, you can see Lake Trasimeno, the hills of Cortona, Monte Amiata, and Subasio. The vineyards, always present in the company, began to be modernized from the mid-90s with the introduction of local and international varieties, which best express their characteristics in this territory. In these hills, dedicated since ancient times to the production of high-quality grapes, the family currently cultivates about 10 hectares of vineyards with high-density planting (about 5200 vines/ha) and the main training method is spurred cordon. The varieties present are Syrah, which is the grape variety at the basis of the Cortona DOC denomination, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Sangiovese. White grape varieties have also recently been planted, such as Chardonnay and Viognier. Always dedicated to the cultivation of cereals and legumes typical of the territory, today more than 15 varieties.
